Bullguard is a powerful security suite that covers all the needs. It’s not as robust but it’s an excellent option for those looking to get more value from their anti-virus software. It also does a great job with resources, avoiding large system loads and offering a number of options to lighten its load in the event of need.
The program opens with an modular hub that features tiles that show the layout of its modules. They include firewalls, antivirus PC tune-up, game boosters, and home network scanners. Users who want to monitor their system for read vulnerabilities will be happy with the “Vulnerabilities” section, which will alert them to issues such as missing Windows updates, autostart services and open ports. The “Game Booster”, a feature that optimizes your system automatically when you play, is helpful for gamers.
In our tests, the bullguard was quite effective in blocking malware infections. It also was relatively light on system resources in comparison to most competing products in terms of CPU usage. We did notice, however, that the background processes of the antivirus took up a lot of RAM, particularly for machines with limited memory. When viewed on a high-resolution display, the hub app appeared as if it was pixelated.
Bullguard offers a mobile security feature that is included with its Premium Protection subscription which provides antitheft protection parental control, basic backup capabilities for your smartphone or tablet. However, the app is fairly minimal and doesn’t offer essential features like security for your webcam or shredders for files. The only way to get support via phone is via live chat or email.
